48 Years of Aluminium Excellence

Powdercoating Service

Sapphire is able to offer Powdercoating services with our Batchline Coating System which specialises in production runs up to 500m² and ensures quick colour changes.

All our powdercoating is applied using the latest Gema guns by hand so the process can be adapted to multiple sections on a rack ensuring small runs are coated on all surfaces consistently.

We are able to offer Seven (7) Stage Chromate pre treatment which is critical for any external finish as it helps prevent corrosion from advancing under the powder by providing a barrier to oxidisation and key for the powder to stick to when it is applied.

Sapphire can coat any aluminium object with in the following dimensions:

LENGTH
7500mm
HEIGHT
1800mm
WIDTH
1000mm

Care & Maintenance of Powdercoat Coatings

The effects of ultra violet light, pollution, dirt, grime and salt deposits can all accumulate on your powder coated surface over time. To extend the effective life of powder coating and protect any warranty requirements that may exist, a very simple regular maintenance program should be implemented for the removal of any residues.

As a general rule, cleaning should take place every six months. However, in areas where pollutants are more prevalent, especially in coastal or industrial regions, a cleaning program should be carried out on a more frequent basis (i.e. every three months).

To clean your powder coated surface:

1. Carefully remove any loose deposits with a wet sponge
2. Use a soft brush (non abrasive) or cloth, and a mild household detergent solution to remove dust, salt and other deposits.
3. Rinse off with fresh water

Detergents that recommend the use of gloves when handling should be avoided as this is a good indication that the detergent is harsh and therefore, unsuitable for cleaning your powder coating.

Although some strong solvents are recommended for removing sealants or other building residues, these may be harmful to the extended life of the powder coated surface and should be avoided as the damage may not be visible immediately and may take up to twelve months to appear. If paint splashes, sealants or other residue need to be removed, then either Methylated Spirits, Turpentine or White Spirits may be used safely.
