We are often contacted by Architects and Designers who have been verbally told they can’t be provided the finish they have specified.

If a Contractor/builder is telling you any of the below, ask them to confIrm the statement in writing.

Our guess is they won’t.

Unfortunately there are a number of contractors in the market that win business by quoting a price that didn’t allow for the specified finish or article.

Most of these reasons are Urban Myths and include but are not limited to the following.

URBAN MYTH NUMBER 1

“I CAN’T GET THAT FINISH FOR THREE MONTHS”

How many times as an architect or designer have you created a colour scheme for your client, had it signed off and specified, only to find out that when it comes to implementation you start hearing words from the contractor to the effect.

“We have a problem getting the finish you specified as they can’t do it for three months. This will delay the project, but to help you out we have found a finish that is almost the same or similar”

In the majority of cases, this is simply an URBAN MYTH.

URBAN MYTH NUMBER 2

“I CAN’T GET THAT FINISH AS THEY HAVE A PLANT BREAKDOWN AND ARE OUT FOR 4 MONTHS”

Again you guessed it, Urban Myth, if we had a breakdown for that long we would not be in business, Sapphire invests heavily into plant maintenance and updating our finishing line with the latest technologies, we regulary update our production leadtimes and any possible breakdown is reflected here.

URBAN MYTH NUMBER 3

“I CAN’T GET THAT FINISH AS IT HAS BEEN DELETED”

Again you guessed it, Urban Myth, Our current range of finishes are maintained on ouir website where any deleted finish is removed and new finishes added.
