This new development created the opportunity for J.P. Morgan to bring their people together as One Community, in an iconic new environment. J.P. Morgan is the major tenant in the Westfield development, located at 85 Castlereagh Street, and will be housed across 14 floors. The environment has been aligned to J.P. Morgan’s key objective to create a global community, while respecting the probity and security commensurate with a financial services organisation.

The design has been created to be both efficient and flexible and to reflect their strong brand presence and history. The value of the real estate has been maximised including the creation of multi-purpose spaces which can morph to suit the client’s requirements. Alternate floors house destinations of meeting and breakout spaces to encourage vertical travel through the tenancy and the internal fire stair has been activated to enable people to travel between floors. Shared amenity is located around this central spine of the stair to also encourage cross-fertilisation through movement across the floor plates.

A global dedicated interchange space is located on the transfer floor central to the tenancy, and provides alternative meeting spaces. Technology enabled to support global connections including a telepresence room, the environment also includes an international visitor ‘ dock in’, together with a real time link up connection to the core of J.P. Morgan’s business via rolling news feeds. The space will be an energised internal hub of the J.P. Morgan community, promoting knowledge transfer and connectivity beyond immediate working teams.

Client facilities create a sense of occasion and provide sufficient scale and flexibility to accommodate both client waiting and corporate functions. The design creates a sense of exclusivity and impact upon arrival.

The design philosophy has been underpinned by the overarching principles of Character, Strength and Intelligence and materials and equipment have been selected on the basis that they are timeless, durable and appropriate.

The fitout, integrated with the development of the base building, is targeting 4.5 Green Star, which would be the highest rating achieved by a financial institution with dealing floors in Australia.
