Product:Custom fabricated Anodised Flats
Completed:2009

Sapphire worked in conjunction with the Fit out Contractor Cubic Interiors to fulfil the design intent proposed by Wilson + Lahznimmo Architects for the atrium of the new Lowy Research Centre at UNSW.

The project called for custom designed handrails that had to slope back to the individual at 15 degrees and curve around corners and allow for curved glass with the atrium area to form viewing areas.

The finish was selected for durability as it would be in contact with multiple users over the life of the project. Sapphire then produced the special custom flat trims and anodised them by firsthand polishing the trims to remove any marks the completing in Matt Selvatica – AA25.

The finished product perfectly frames off the areas and integrates the composite panels into a complete seamless finish.
